Just hit 5000 miles going to change oil and check fluids, so far perfect running.

It’s either bad parts or bad install. Over torquing plastic will make it break eventually with all the heat cycles. And back of the engine away from the fan?.. This is definitely a weak point on this truck. The toilet like tubing will eventually become a maintenance item on these trucks. It’s really sad honestly and it’s the Achilles heel in this engine design alongside the diff cover weak points and the oil leak on the passenger side of the engine where the timing cover, valve cover, and intake block all meet.

Mine's irrelevant of if the fans or air conditioning are on. It's primarily making noise from 82-96ish km/h when I let off the accelerator and it's coasting... Pretty sure it's something to do with the rear diff.

I'm so choked with my truck I'm considering getting rid of it.

My Barcelona Red 2017 Tacoma is showing signs of early paint failure on the tops of the doors and hood. It is garage kept and kept spotless. It is not driven in the winter and only has 31000 miles on it. Toyota wont fix it because it is out of warranty. Ill fix it because i like the truck so much. Instead of buying a new Toyota Rav4 in 2022 we bought a new Mazda CX5 after owning nothing but Toyotas since 1989. Toyota pulled the same crap on my wife's 2013 Sienna. The struts were leaking but we were told they were only seeping until the warranty expired. It became a leak then. Similar story with steering coupler as well. Toyota builds great cars but....

I want to not like the CX5, but it actually sounds like a good purchase if that is what you're in the market for. I think they look good. Good reliability. Reasonable price. They kind of check all the boxes for that price point. Oh, since I'm in this thread, my '23 TRD OR w/ 2.5k miles is doing fine. The interior plastics scuff unreasonably easy, but I'll live.

I had a 2015 Mazda6 and 2016 CX5. Both were fantastic. Only 2 minor issues on the CX5 in 50k miles: a CEL for a computer glitch that was fixed with a flash for free at the dealership, and needed rotors to be resurfaced.

The CX5 completely saved my better half in a t-bone accident where side airbags deployed and the offending driver was carted off in an ambulance. I’d buy another one in a heartbeat.

The Mazda dealership was friendlier than Toyota, too.

If you look up the carfax on my truck... your computer will melt. I know the only way I get rid of this is if it gets hit by a meteor or a soccer mom.... again..... or VW, Honda, Toyota

120k miles with no major issues so far. Some paint fading on the roof but it does sit in the sun year round. Certainly lasted much longer than either my 97 BMW 328i or 08 Subaru Legacy by a long shot.

I steered my daughter away from the Rav4 and into a CX5. I love the Tacoma and Toyotas in general but that CX5 is league's ahead of the Rav in every category.

2018 bought new, 110k km, no issues… yet. I’m modifying it quite a bit so I may cause an issue or two.
