Thank you for your service and tell your wife thanks for her service. Many people tend to forget about the spouses that are left behind to run the household. When I went to Korea for a year my wife was left with two small children to take care of on her own. She did very well.

It's good to be humble and grateful!
@hiPSI good idea, and change of pace on the thread!
I still have my parents- my father that years ago, doctors said wouldn't be here now.
I've got my old dog that the vet said wouldn't be here now, but I miss like crazy my younger dog, that suddenly got sick and needed to put to sleep this summer.
My former boss, and still a great close friend of mine always said "we're gonna ride the wheels off this mother fucker, and when they do- we're gonna get out, and push!"

Thank you guys, it's appreciated. I'm glad for the experience even though it can be tough to see the positive when it slows down and you're just alone with negative thoughts and impatience. Overall I have learned that doing this once is enough for me! I'm either getting out or transferring to the Air Guard where they deploy way less often (at least in my state) and they're only six months long. I could maybe extend for a couple more years and do the part-time thing for a bit longer--it's not that bad just once a month--but I'd rather pick up an OT shift every other week and make way more money for the same amount of time.
