Hub assembly, which one of these three options?

    Here’s the deal, I’m short on cash and I want to get my wheel bearings done before a decent sized road trip I’m making. It’s not imperative but I’d like to get it done for piece of mind. Truck is a 2013 with 99,800 miles on it, no grinding. I have a rather large Amazon gift card and there’s a few hub assembly’s on Amazon, either by Dorman, DTA (drive tech America) or TRQ 1A-Auto.


    Now I’ve been around awhile and I know bama’s or jersey built hubs are the way to go, with the Timken bearing. Ideally I’d do that route but I don’t have the funds on short notice. What I’m wondering is which of the above three options is the best route to go? I did some searching around on here and it seems dormans have held up, can’t find anything about the DTA’s or the TRQ’s though. The TRQ’s are so d*mn cheap I’m basically ruling those out because their suspicious, but the small reviews I can find say they’re “good”. I’m not expecting anything bullet proof either, a year or two will be sufficient.


    Spare yourself the buy once, cry once do it right because I already know that. When I have the funds I’ll pull them and replace with two bama1997 timken units. I need to do the needle bearing anyways so I can change them when I do that, I just don’t have the time or funds to do everything at the moment. I’m also not going to go the press them yourself route.

    If they are fine don’t change them. Some people’s bearing last forever. My driver front went at 66,000, I replaced with Bamaboy hub and at 132,000 miles now both fronts are fine. My right front with 132,000 is tight no hum or wobble. Do you have large heavy tires.

    Tires are one size up from stock, I believe 265-75-16. Cooper ST Maxx but weight wise they're not quite as heavy as actual mud tires.

    No rocking in the wheel at all if I shake it but if you spin it you can hear what sounds like pins in the hub. No noise in the passenger side.

    Honestly it's hard to tell given the "aggressive" tires with 20K on them and the needle bearing doing it's thing. I will say this is the second set of the same tires and the first set got quite loud as they wore out, when I got the second set on it was super quiet. I got 65K miles from the first set.
