Just curious if hub centering rings are still a good idea to have with aftermarket wheels. If I recall, aftermarket wheels for our trucks should be lug centric, but after some balancing issues with my new tires, the shop has been questioning if I should have been given hub centering rings with my wheels (moto metal 951s).

Paired with my wheels, I've got the gorilla spline drive kit (lug nuts have a short shank on their base).

Just curious, these are the ones I've found.

Don't know the machine name/type. i would guess they'd fit. The hub of the Taco is 106.8mm, right? So I could get a 108mm to 106.8mm ring for each hub.

Maybe their just not necessary, I dont know. Searching has lead to a variety of answers, some say yes, some said no.

Click on the link and go find yourself a shop that has a Hunter balancing machine.

This machiine will also tell you where the problem is if there is one.

The shop that I am working with is on that list, so I guess they did use that machine.

They said the tires/wheels are balancing out fine on that machine - just curious about the hub centering rings now.
