So I've been changing a lot of tires since these stock Goodyears on the TRDOR suck ballz.

My hubs are so rusty. Looks like a part from a ghost ship that's been floating at sea for 50 years...

Is this normal? I should've taken a pic, but I didn't. But imagine something like this:

Colorado! It's dry AF out here!

Noticed it on the back hubs. Been a few months since I changed a front tire...

Well I'm in canada, and in Ontario where I live they love to coat the whole road in salt so this was only 3 months of ownership in the winter. Curious what the next few years will be like

What's so bad about the Goodyears? A lot of people talk tires but real world experience has left me with a positive impression of Goodyear all around.

These tires seem to wear really well, the off road grip is solid (considering its a stock offering), and they obviously have nothing to do with rusty hubs.

Like hiPSI said, rock rustoleum or get used to it.

BTW, in my neighborhood the water is crazy hard.. that shit will make your hubs rust like a mofo too. Perhaps some sort of water getting on them often?

Pretty normal. Some higher end vehicles and aftermarket parts have rotors and/or brake drums that are painted/coated that won't surface rust like that but it's nothing to lose sleep over

That was me. 5 of them in a year. Granted 2 were screws, one was likely nail/screw but not found, and at least 2 from rocks on forest service roads in Colorado. Granted I had this thing all over the mountains last summer, but I was on trails that I'd previously driven in other trucks with no flats. I lost all confidence in the Goodyear Wranglers. Last rock puncture was unrepairable, so I figured after 20k miles it's time to try something new. I liked them at first until the rock punctures. Got the Cooper Discoverer AT3s put on today and they're great so far. Time will tell...

I couldn't care less about the rust as long as it's normal. Maybe it's like weathering steel where the layer of rust forms the protective coating.

My 2010 is bad. Bearings started going at 95K. Fast forward to 123k and I got my driver side off but no such luck with my passenger side. Wheel hub nut is really on there. Lol

Two years out, how were (are?) those Discoverer AT3s?

To be fair, I think you had quite a run of bad luck on those Wranglers. I once picked up bolts three months in a row in LA in my mustang. Taught me to eyescan for nuts and bolts everywhere I drive now.
