Bj actually did not compete. once they closed the event he's "electrical issues" were fixed but they let him have some time to run around like the monster truck did half way though.

Did you have a radio? He was definitely in the event, he might have said he wasnt after he got beat but if he had been just playing around for publicity he would have taken a lot more runs at it and hit a better lip cuz the word was he was not happy with the jump. He took his 3 practice runs and his 3 legit runs and called it a day per the contest rules. One of the girls that was out with us won the ride in his truck yesterday too haha

Thats at least what we kept hearing. I could be wrong but had he won I guarantee he would have claimed to be the Huckfest champ....

no but i know the kids who put on the event and talked to them when they were packing up and asked why bj had his own little 10 minute run at the end.. they were pretty frustrated with the people interfearing with the radio and with Bj pulling that out of the event until it was over, then jump after that.

yea there were a bunch of jackasses all over the radio all day. It was pretty obnoxious. Basically what we heard over the radio when he showed up was "BJ can do whatever he wants" he came out, did his hot lap, roosted the crowd and the rangers put him on "time out" for a little while. They gave him 3 practice jumps and the last 3 were his competition attempts. He was def jumping for the contest but my assumption is that when he didnt out jump the silver lake truck he decided that he never entered but what else can you expect from him...if you know you know. All in all, cool event minus all the delays

So basically your saying there should never be classes in anything? So it's totally fair that bjs full blown trophy truck gets to compete against leaf sprung stock motor trucks? There classes in any form of competition to keep things fair.

I found it hard to believe that Bj's truck suddenly got fixed as soon as the event was over... The monster truck was suppose to be the last event. When did Bj jump? After the monster truck (last event). Bj did not compete in huckfest imo. He showed up after the event was over to get a couple helicopter shots for his sponsors.

I still think Huckfest 2011 was the best event so far. Sure it wasn't permitted, but you got to experience that feeling they talk about. Just a group of guys competing against each other to see who could jump their truck the furthest.

I was bummed to see more "cencal" trucks than prerunners... I bet malls had record number drops in sales that day.

Never been there but do any non-professionals partake anymore? Or are long gone the times of "just a bunch of friends camping for the weekend and seeing how far they can jump their trucks"?

My guys here at the shop hung out with BJ and the Rigid guys all weekend, then they decided to park the toterhomes in my parking lot Sunday night before heading back to AZ. Super nice guys, they showed us a great time out there.

Oh, and Chops truck has Rebel decals on it :D
