Huge clunk driver side

    My guess is the sway bar hitting. I have the same issue and noticed that on my driver side the sway bar will hit on bumps. I wasn’t sure what the issue was but after reading this thread it helped. I need to do the relocation.

    So I found out that I didn't put the spacers in in that God awful crossmember behind the skid plate so it relieved alot of the noise but it's still making it if I hit a a big pothole or bump. Think it could still be hitting?? Do they make bigger spacers or what. I am newer to offroading and stuff whats the pros and cons of taking it off?

    Well I was all wrong. I was doing the ball joints on my Toyota today and I noticed that it indeed had been hitting the spring seat on the stabilizer bar.


    I discovered that I can easily make it hit just by adjusting the cams.:mad:

    Evidently it was fine until I got a front end alignment. I never did hear any noise & it just touched very lightly and hardly left a mark. But it was hitting on both sides. I slotted my front bushing saddles so I could push the bar forward slightly and added some 1/2” spacers on the saddles.

    I think this is gonna be enough clearance now but I put some masking tape on the affected areas and we will see if it strikes in daily use.

    Drop the skid plate, go for a quick ride, if your noise is gone then it was too close.

    I drove it around with no scratches, so I took the tape off today after I did a front end alignment in my garage. I found that with the correct settings nothing hit anything. I am not running oversize tires however. Since I do a lot of stop and go on dry pavement I run long mileage tires, shorter than normal: 245-70 R 17

    It seems that I get much more normal caster/camber settings than I would if running big snow tires.

    What is striking the stabilizer bar is the spring seat of the 5100s. I could easily grind some off of that if I was worried about it hitting, but I don’t think it will now.
