This forum is great and meeting helpful members who volunteer their free time to help other members is just awesome.
Huge shout out to Jaycen for taking a few hours from his family on Sunday during the long weekend to install my pop'n'lock for me. It's a great mod, which should have been done by Toyota at the factory, but it is what it is.

Wait, I thought 3rd gens come with a locking tailgate?

 

I thought it was also a standard feature on the 2016's

 

Yes, they come with a locking tailgate, but it has its own separate key. The Pop n Lock is a power lock solenoid that ties into the power lock circuit for your passenger locks so that it will operate along with them.

It's real nice, especially with the keyless setup, to just touch the handle and have everything locked up, including the tailgate.

 

Well pop n lock has a manual non power one, and that is the most used so there for the reason behind confusion.

 

Gotcha. I was only familiar with their one product so I thought that was their specialty.

 

Yeah and the manual tranny only needs one key, the same as the ignition key.
