Sorry I didn't get back to you last night. I am familiar with that area, I sometimes run a route over there. That would be great, we are in our "busy" time at work. I usually work 8am to 6pm Monday-Friday, and usually do a quick run to Cali on Saturday's. Sunday's are my off days. I could possibly get out of the Saturday if we have someone to cover it.
I have not purchased the parts for the rear axle, can you give me a list of what I'll need? Can I go aftermarket or do you think OEM is better for this.

Not necessarily, depends on how bad it's leaking and if the shoes are wet.

Sunday would work for me. Shop is usually not crowded on Sundays. Tentatively plan on the 29th to knock out the rear axle. Can you post of a pic of the rear axle backing plate were its leaking?
    I'll get part info.

I've never seen one that didn't need the oil impregnated shoes and drum replaced.

In the same venue of this conversation, the breather tube should be checked. Often a clogged breather tube will prevent the diffy from being able to vent.

This pressure causes the gear oil to get pushed past the seal. You may not even need a seal, just clear the clog on the breather tube. That repair is FREE. We like free.

Do you mean the breather on top top of the rear diff housing? How would you check it, just remove it?
