I been reading all the forums and pretty sure I need to replace my driver side needle bearing with the sleeve from ecgs. But my questions is, does anyone know how long can I drive this safely with out damaging anything? The noise started right after I installed the 3” lift. Which was on 9-8-19.
I am trying to get a few quotes and make sure it is not the passenger bearing. Thanks

The one way to be sure if it’s the needle bearing is to see if it goes away once you switch to 4wd

It definitely goes away when I turn to 4h and goes away when I turn it to 2h .

Do you think it would be the passenger bearing at all?

I just changed mine with the ecgs bushing. My needle bearing looked fine except it had a lot of play on the shaft. After installing the new bushing the humming/whining noise was greatly reduced. I still have some noise which I’m still looking into.

Thanks for the feed back, let me know how you got rid of all the humming noise. I hope when I install this same bushing this Friday, it will all go away for me. I am running out of cash on this upgrade.

It’s nt hard. Do you have the removal tool? If so, just take your time.

Yes I have the tool and a new seal just in-case. All the videos are very helpful as well.
