Okay guys I’ve searched the forum and haven’t found anything on this and I tried to take a video but you can’t hear anything so here’s what’s going on so basically whenever I let off the gas at any speed I start to get this low pitch hum coming from the truck and it doesn’t sound to be coming from either side mostly from right under me like it’s coming from somewhere around the transmission to drive shaft however when reading everyone else’s issues everyone’s problem seem to be when they accelerate and I have no noise on acceleration only when I let off the gas, I did just recently buy this truck and the transmission was serviced by Toyota about 20k miles ago and same with both diffs any ideas or anyone have this experience? Truck is also totally stock and it’s a 2011 base 4wd DCLB

Is it possible that it’s coming from the rear end?

This. Maybe rear is shot? Is it a manual transmission or automatic?

I’m decently certain it’s coming from the front it seems like it’s almost coming from the middle of the truck directly where the radio is but obviously under the chassis

Could be one of the rear wheel bearings. Might want to check those.

Wouldnt a wheel bearing always make noise tho? Or do you think the sound of my acceleration is covering it up?

Yes that was the case with my bad wheel bearing. On the highway the wind & engine noise made it less noticeable. Most noticeable when coasting to a stop coming off the interstate.

    Since its Friday.....

Do you recognize the tune? Can you sing along?

Seriously, many times tires will make a "humming" sound. What type of tire do you have?

Unfortunately it’s doesn’t quite remind me on the Moana sing along but I’m sure with some tweaking I could make it work and hmmmn you know I have not thought about it being a tire I’ll look into that as well

Not many CBs are water cooled with a shaft drive.
Thanks for allowing me into the cool kids club. Although, I was cool long before a club was formed. :D
