Hi all, I just go my Tacoma DB TRD OR. It's a great truck. I plan on driving through the Hungry Valley area in October and wanted to to know if is possible to spend one day at Hungry Valley off-roading. I do not want to camp there and plan on spending the night in a nearby hotel. Is this possible?
    Thanks.

Well there really isnt a Hotel nearby, the closest would probably be about 20 or 25 minutes

So it sounds like I can off-road for a few hours then head out to hotel within reasonable distance.

We are taking a road trip from San Diego to San Francisco. I promised my wife hotel stays instead of camping for this trip. Next time around we may designate Hungry Valley as our destination and camp, but not this time. Thanks.

you could stay the night in valencia the night before, do some wheeling at gorman the next morning then drive through to like fresno or something, then continue up the next day. actually bakersfield would be "better" because its before the split to the 5 not after like fresno. so from bakersfield you would take the 5 all the way up the valley 4 hrs to SF. as where fresno is kinda out of the way since its more east then you need to go.

There is a Holiday Inn off the I5 at Frazier Park.

That's only a few minutes from Hungry Valley.

I've stayed in that Holiday Inn Express. It's pretty nice as budget motels go. It's fairly new, within the last couple of years.
