I think the fancy connector could still work if you trimmed the gap so the bolt has more clamping force. Kind of like gapping piston rings. Just get a cut-off wheel in there and clearance it a little. That'll keep everything matching under the hood. :thumbsup:Eventually I may upgrade mine if I ever get around to a dual battery setup and I do like those military style connectors. Utilitarian.

As far as being "that guy", hey it happens. We all mod our trucks and something is bound to not fit exactly right. If that was the worst "failure" of the trip, I'll take it! If it makes you feel better, I rescued another battery terminal today. Except this one was from a guy that doesn't know jack about cars. He though he needed to be towed, turns out his terminals were so badly corroded that they were no longer making contact, a little roadside distilled water and wire brush and he thought I was a magician!

I don't think it would hurt, but not a necessity. They just look badass and also have better grip on the battery terminals.

Shouldn't. My issue was the result of this pretty but ill-fitting connector that came with my wiring upgrade.

Juan - If you have time and are interested, hit me up for a Hollister run when you pass through. Out at Poker Run III the weekend of 4/22-23, other than that I'd be down to go.

Interesting, I have never gone that way. I just do a big loop. I enter Sierra hwy side then go in and hit the 4x4 climb off to the right at the second staging area and then get to the top of the mountains and head down the other side and come out just under the "first" staging area. The climb is 4x4 the descent is easy 2wd
