Im ready for the first to get here. Got at least 2 days a week off plus weekends for the month. I stopped hunting in WV with deer season starting up. Never have been a fan of running my dogs while others are trying to deer hunt and making them mad.

We had a great week chasing hare in Maine a Oct 20-26. 12 of us in camp with 22 dogs total. Only 4 of us had hare hunted before so we got to pop a few cherries. We ran 10 dogs each day but went out with a bang and ran 17 together on Friday. Talk about music to the ears.

Started out on Monday at one of my hotspots and shot 7, and we usually had two separate pack running a hare at the same time. Took 4-5 hours for them to settle down and run in one pack for the most part. At one point we did have 4 separate chases going at the same time. We ended up with 23 hare being shot by the end of the week.

Typically got to our spot by 815 or so and picked them up around 4 pm. We did have rain on Thursday and Friday so the fair weather hunters only lasted till noon or so. I stayed out with my dogs and ran till about 4 both days.

If there is anyone looking for a first class outfitter to stay with I highly recommend Sunrise Ridge Guide Service in Bingham, ME. Meals are top notch and they are great people as well. I have been up 7 times in 4 years and consider Troy and Cheree to be great friends. http://sunriseridgeguide.com/

Group shot before we started on Monday

Almost 23 miles the first day. We ended up right around 20 each day.

Been doing some hunting on Fridays and Saturdays with the dogs. Went out this past saturday and got two rabbits with one shot. It was actually 1 rabbit with 1 shot and Jack caught the other one just as he jumped it. That dog never ceases to amaze me.

Also just booked my March trip up to Maine for the 1st to 7th. Love it up there with 5 feet of snow on the ground. Hopefully we get better conditions than last year, its a crapshoot that time of year.

I just got out ran by 125 to 150 by the track size. Went into an area I don't know and has a good amount of private land so we decided to pull dogs and call it a day. Try it again on Friday.
