I found that one this last October tracking another deer I shot. Which is where the blood came from. Everything from public land. Deer was in Idaho, Elk was Western WA just outside Mt.Ranier national park boundary

How are the wolves in your area? IDFG has been dropping some out aerial hunting. Hope it's working.

There are wolves around where I am but not many...thankfully...They have almost ruined our elk hunting. They used to have cow elk as an over the counter tag and now you are lucky if you get one in a draw/lotto tag. I wouldnt mind seeing the wolves gone in Idaho...

I know I heard that's how it use to be. They have a muzzy cow hunt down in 10a but it's only like 3 days long. Washington state will never have a season on them. This state is going under

Ive been really lucky...the last two seasons Ive gotten the either sex tag...I shot my first elk cow with my .270 and second elk this past season with my bow. I'd like to get a nice bull one day but Im not passing up a cow.

The bear dressed out @ 390# the guy in the far left of the picture was the shooter. I own all the dogs but the red dog in the middle.

I'll be in GMU 12 next month bear hunting. I've got a wolf tag too. Hopefully I can help your elk out.
