Haha! Well, I suppose I'll try to go before Jan 1 anyway.

I'd prefer to have at least one other vehicle. I have some recovery stuff, but no winch.

Same here. I spoke to someone who ran it recently and I don't think we'll need it but it's always good to go with someone. Let me know when you pick a day and I'll see if I can join. The trailhead is about 90 minutes from my house.

I believe so for you, me and @FirstGenTundra . I guess anyone else who wants to go. My only hesitation is not having a skid plate currently. Mine is supposedly shipping first week in January.

You don’t need a skid plate on that trail. There is one set of wallowed out ruts at the beginning (interstate end) that you might bottom out on but it’s all soft mud

I miss running hurricane creek! I lived just a couple miles from there and that trail never got old. Kids loved it too

It's gonna be fun. We got 3-5" of snow here in the valley and I'm guessing 8-12" in the higher elevations.

Yep. I'm trying to work ahead so I can take Tuesday off but I'm 90% sure I can make it. I don't think we'll have any issues. My only concern would be ice under the snow.

That post is from 2010 and yes they gated a few side trails to keep people on the main trail.

no, you don’t have to have a registered vehicle. Yes, we are close to having that road shut down entirely because too many people go out there and act like morons
