Oops.. didn’t see that lol. Just reread it

I still don’t think there’s anything that has changed. Mainly because how would you enforce it? Forest service isn’t posting someone up out there to make sure. They don’t have that kind of funding

I talked to a few people that ran it. One ran it 2 days ago and one was last month. There are gates but they are not closed. Both people are non-NC residents and didn't have any issues. The road is still open as of 48 hours ago.

That’s fair. My ol Sport I’d be happy to beat on. She’s just getting old and I’m considering selling. The 2020 King Ranch sure is more comfortable of a daily :rofl:

There were more sketchy spots than I anticipated. The snow/ice/slush combination made things more interesting in a few spots.

Can't wait to do it again!

We ended up taking a right toward the end and didn't end up at Max Patch. No one had cell reception, so we opted to follow the majority of the tracks.

Damn those pics & vids are awesome. I can't wait to go again. My Avatar pic was taken at Clyde, NC. That was March of 2019. About an hour before reaching the I-40 entrance to Hurricane Creek Rd. I only did the 1st creek crossing then turned around shortly after since I was alone & unfamiliar with the area.

Next time I go I will plan for January or early February. Better chance to see snow.

Unfortunately I do not. I used to live over there next to hurricane creek but never hit buzzard roost before to my knowledge

The last time I was on that trail/road, it was nicely graded and I drove up in a 2wd passenger car. That's the part from I-40 to buzzard's roost. I've heard there's a section back there that is a little rougher, but nothing crazy. It's worth the trip for the view if you're already in the area.

I had read that it has been graded and pretty nice now. I will be driving right by and planning on going to Max Patch as well so I will check it out too, maybe even venture into the rougher part a bit.
