I'm still waiting for them to say its shifted its track towards Florida, thats the kinda luck I been having lately. Oh well. Good luck to all in its path.

If I could, I would rep you twice for that. That was one of the funniest things I've read in awhile.

yeah, and I wish SC would just inbreed itself to death.

I just spent the past couple days boarding up windows, sealing up the holes in my garage, and moving everything into the garage. This is such a nightmare to deal with. I'm loading up my prized possessions in my most prized possession and heading on up to Northern Louisiana. tacoark, get ready! I'll be bringing my mountain bike and will get a few relaxing days in on the trail, but other than that, this is going to really stink.

My grandmother (she was 97, and a lovely lady) was not doing very well. She passed last night which turned out a be pretty good timing. She was ready to go and now she won't be forced to leave her home again.

it is supposed to be a worse hurricane that Katrina, but it is different. Katrina gave us a Southerly wind, pushing the Lake water into N.O. Gustav is going to give us a Northerly wind, which will push the water away from New Orleans.

I think there will be some flooding, but not nearly as bad as what Katrina did. Katrina wasn't bad for New Orleans-poor levy design did New Orleans in.

I predict that by boat will sink and I'll need a new roof in my garage and I'll have a few inches of water in the garage. I bet my house will be fine.

Sorry for your loss, Isocoee. 97 years is a nice long life, I tip my hat to your grandmother.

Sending out strength & a bucket of luck to all in the path of this storm, stay safe. Hurricanes... I'll take an earthquake over a hurricane any day!

I am sorry for your loss. Living to 97 is a great feat in itself. My grandmother lived to 95. I would always be amazed by the things she told me about stuff she had seen and done. I hope I can live to be that age.

They are running a show on the History channel right now about the Black Sea flooding and they are comparing it to Hurricane Katrina.

Sorry to hear of your loss Isocoee, as for good timing I would have to agree. I used to live in Myrtle Beach and went through a handful of hurricanes and they are terrible, so if she doesn't have to deal with this one, well God Bless her. I feel confident that the Corps of Engineers will make us proud and save New Orleans, Take care.
