Good so far... Bad stuff passed us slightly towards the north.
We are currently in a "lull" of sorts.
Rain & wind slowed down to next to nothing.

I lowered my pool because I was supposed to get about 6-8 inches of rain... Now I have to refill because I didn't get it... But, glad it fizzled and didn't cause widespread damage.

We have a few trees down blocking the "improved farm road" (read "dirt") from our house. They are blocking the road and took down some phone lines. Luckily, we can also go out in the opposite direction. We've lost power for a few seconds off and on so I'm working from my iPad.

We loaded our pool with chlorine and we might need to drain it a bit. But, it holds 35,000 gallons so a few inches of rain doesn't mKe much of a difference.

THanks! It's started raining pretty hard again and windy but not much more wind than a good winter storm.

We live over by the Lackawanna State Park - actually by the Keysrone Observatory if you know where that is. We moved back here after I retired from the Army. My wife is originally from Scranton, I'm from Easton.

We love being from East Benton. It's a homier crowd than over in Waverly. :)

I put one in that runs off our propane tank (1000gal buried in the yard). It starts automatically if the power is off for morevthan 13 seconds and powers all of the critical things like water, sewage, heat, refrigerator, freezer, cooktop and some lights and outlets. Sits under the back porch and has a Honda quiet engine. Well worth the investment.

I'm absolutely green with envy, Mark. I have to do a review of my basic needs to see what the minimum generator size would be and then determine cost. Luckily, I have natural gas and don't have water or sewage pumps to contend with. Storage is an issue though and I'd probably have to construct a small shed for it or get a weatherproof unit in a cabinet. I'm hoping to find something affordable. What size generator did you buy?

I have an Onan RS 12000. I think it puts out a max of about 11kw on LP and a little less on Natural Gas. The newer ones even come with an in house diagnostics monitoring system and Internet capability.

We live on an old horse farm away from the main road with no public services. I wanted something that would keep the heat, septic and water going and heat going and also keep the refrigerator and freezers up. Thiscsystem has enough capacity to also run our cooktop and other outlets, etc. And I still haven't maxed it out.

The electrician who wired our home recommended Onan. He had installed some Generacs and otherscsold by Lowe's and Home Depot and didn't like the quality of the wiring and circuitry. So, I ordered this through a company in Colorado and it came with free shipping.

The whole house systems are enclosed so you really don't need to cover them. They are like central air conditioning systems. They just have to be 3 feet away from a wall. Mine fit nicely under our back porch because of the slope of our property but it could have easily been out in the open.
