This is my first set of quality floor mats. I went with Husky mainly because of the price. My Tacoma is 06 with 152k, I plan to keep it maybe 3-4 more years before I buy a newer model.

The WT’s I saw didn’t have the little nubs on the bottom. So they slid around. The Husky’s had the nubs. Also, the WT’s had a bad fit in the GMC truck I saw them in. There may be different models of mats. And they might fit better in the Tacoma. But I wouldn’t buy any mats that didn’t have the nubs to keep them in place.

Then I went in the complete different direction and bought the Toyota all weather mats at the dealer’s recommendation. They have the deep channels for water and the nubs to keep them in place. And they were cheaper than the Husky’s...but only by a few bucks. Basically the same price. They fit perfect. I’ll let you know how they wear. But for now, I’d recommend them.

That's a different version of all the Huskys I've seen. Those look thicker and better. The ones I saw break were really thin and the only texture was a very shallow diamond plate shape/look.

These ^^^ are the ones from the dealership. Perfect fit. Material has a softer rubber feel, not hard plastic. Also has those little nubs on the bottom to keep them from sliding around. The channels are deep like the Husky ones I saw. They were cheaper than Husky (only by a few bucks). I’ll let you know how durable they are. But so far, so good.

I went with husky x-act contours, I love them so far. It’s been really cold here, and they haven’t broken in two yet.

I had the Toyota all weather mats in for awhile, and they are ok. The huskies are a lot heavier duty and cover more area though. I was going back and forth between weathertech and husky for awhile. The majority of people I’ve come across that has had both, liked the huskies better because they aren’t so plastic-like/slipppery when wet.

You probably can’t go wrong with either brand though. This is the first I’ve heard of huskies exploding into pieces due to the cold. I’ll have to keep an eye on them.......

Nobody said they exploded into pieces DA. I said they (they being the old style, not the style you have) broke. Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, obviously.

My reading comprehension is perfectly fine , DH. So is my ability to get under people’s skin apparently. You didn’t say anything about the old style, FN.

It was a joke, I didn’t mean to get your panties in a bunch. If that upsets you so much, the internet probably isn’t the place to be, AH, also you can go EAD. :D

I think you'll find that the Husky Liner in the pic above as well as the WeatherTechs in my 2014 Access Cab share a common defect. If you look closely at the two round attachment points, you'll see that they're pretty much level with the bottom of the liners. This allows water that has built up as snow melts to overflow into the mounts and thus my carpet. I talked to the Customer Service folks at WT and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Some of their newer mats utilize a "cap style" mount where a small round cap prevents water from getting in there.

The reason I'm so interested in the Toyota mats is that they appear to have a significantly raised mound around the mounting points. In theory, this should solve the problem.

I think that may be because the huskies/ weathertechs are a lot thicker then the Toyota mats.
