I recently added the Husky Mud Flaps to the front of my 2nd gen after receiving the set for Christmas.
The OEM ones were prone to drag on speed bumps and bottom out even during light off roading. I considered removing them, however, they do seem to catch quite a few rocks and also keep the wheel spray off the side of the truck.

They were super easy to install, using 3 of the original screws plus 2 new ones. So 5 screws to secure vs 3 and 3 clips that were stock. I suggest you align and install the new screws and clips first (the instructions say to do this last) for a better fit.

I love the huskys. The OEMs also flap in the wind like a boat sail. These are much more sturdy.

I bought my 05 back in Oct. and one of the rear mudflaps had been cut off. I found the Huskys on Amazon and installed them a few days later. Really like them and install was easy. Funny thing is my order got screwed up and didn't show up on time, so I contacted Amazon and they overnighted another set. The next day 2 sets showed up, so now I have an extra set. lol

I'm going to remove my stock mudflaps, and if i ever decide to get new ones, this would be my choice.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Funny. I did the same. I backed up in a clearcut and heard a crunch. Got out to see my front flaps had jammed against the tires a ripped right off. Bought a set of Huskies. No problems since.
