HVAC display looks like crap

Anybody else have this problem? 2021 TRD Offroad..

Lol what's the problem? They all look like that.

Try peeling the plastic off the face that might help (a bit).

EDIT: Wait.. that *is* the plastic face???

 

U get nut grease on it?

 

and what cleaning products do you use and how do you apply it?

 

LOL, I did just try to peel the plastic off but that is the face. Bough the truck with 4500 miles Toyota Certified.

 

The only cleaning product I have used is a California Duster. Don’t think I have sprayed anything on it.

 

Oh wow. Ya that display is wasted. Take it back to Toyota and see what they'll do. Those HVAC units aren't cheep and that's NOT normal.

 

DEET will melt plastic like that. You should see my fly boxes.

 

I will take it in for sure. It is hard to see in anything but “perfect” lighting, which is why I haven’t noticed it yet- assuming it was like that when I bought it.

 

Looks like shit was spilled on it and got behind the plastic.

 

Kind of, but see how it’s on both ends and is different on each end? And the left side looks more exterior while the right looks like it’s on the inside.

Perhaps due to an overzealous detailer (a.k.a. retired burger flipper) getting it clean and ready to sell?

 

Hopefully you can replace just the outside lens .

 

In the age of planned obsolescence, that seems wishful thinking lol.

 

Plan B: if the dealer won't fix, there is a dude on here that bought this very same HVAC control to retrofit to his non-dual climate truck. He might sell it to get rid of it?

 

I think the plastic is still on it…
