    Hey all,
The other day my selector switch broke, internally, spilled coffee shorted speed 3 out and stopped working. Then the selector part got all loose and it stopped pumping air out. So I pulled the switch apart and I got the switching mechanism put all back together and functional, still doesnt blow any air.. could it be the resistor? I cant think the switch basically falling apart and the blower motor resistor going out at the same time would be too much of a coincidence. Maybe a fuse or relay somewhere?

    Thoughts? Thanks
    Keegan

My fan switch speed 3 doesn't work either, I think my switch just wore out. How did you get it apart?

First you gotta pull your middle dash piece off, 20200123_185306.jpg

Then you have to take the 3 screws that hold the air control box in place, you'll be able to lift it up and unplug the connector.

Make sure to take the green bulb out of the socket it goes into first before you pull the switch out.

Then press these 2, top and bottom tabs with a small flat screwgee, may have to get another one to put in between the 2 plastic pieces.

Be careful, there is a tiny metal ball inside that keeps your position where it's supposed to be when you move the selector, it will probably go flying if you split and open the 2 halves too quickly.

Hmm, it may be the resistor mounted on the bottom of the blower motor, that's what I read is a symptom of a failing resistor. But I mean it took me like 15 mins, if that, to pull that switch out.

Also, I dont have 12V to the switch either. I just tried to put a small jumper wire in between the positive and the wire that goes out to the blower motor, does not work. Tested with a multimeter as well.

Two summers ago my blower resistor died. All I got was Lo-Lo-Lo-Hi. After replacing it (about $12 part) I now have Lo-MedLo-Lo-Hi. So I got one of my missing speeds back. I tried a third blower resistor and it didn't change anything. I think if your resistor was bad you'd have lost all of your speeds except Lo and Hi.

The fact that you have NO air coming out, maybe it means your blower motor is dead?
