Totaled but still alive! Frame 2.0, Fog lights anytime, Seatbelt reminder delete, Secondary air filter delete, LED bed lights, Running boards, 2017 Rims, Ultra gauge, Cup holder/consol/glove compartment lights, Interior LED conversion, Blue Sea aux. fuse panel, fuse panel mounting plate by Yotamac, ProEFX heated towing mirrors, LED engine bay lights, Redline Quicklift Elite hood struts, Wet Okole Heated Seat Covers,m, Rear bumper 2.0, Decal free visors, Washable cabin air filter, Overhead consol auto dimming override switch, BulletProof Fabricating Skid plate, 2lo module.
Start tracing green wires in and under the consol. The consol is not hard to take apart. IIRC the dimmer is on the negative side of the circuit. A wire may have snagged on the shifter (not likely) or you may have a gremlin (more likely). CANUFIXIT may be on the right track with J2 connection suspect (most likely)

I don't think the wheel control lights are working either. I'll have to double check though. My wife took the taco since her 4runner is down for a front end overhaul.

Its most likely your dimmer "switch". It is two pole dimmer as the cluster lights are on one circuit and all other backlighting is on another circuit. So, just because the cluster lights work normally does not mean the dimmer rheostat is good.

Ok that makes sense. Certainly would be better than mouse damage.

Yup - That's what I'm trying to find out. Attached are two plug pin outs - 1 of 13 pin j2 (see my connector pin numbers above. And, the dimmer pin out FYI. Let me know tomorrow what you find. I assume that j2 is under the dash. find a 13 pin with the wire colors on the pins from above.

Edit - you can pick up multi-meters from dead cheap to more than you can afford. Try to get on with a know electronics company for 25 - 50$ and you be fine ...

Well this turned out to be the solution. When I checked the tail lights, blinkers etc the brake was engaged so I didn't notice they were out. Unfortunately my wife was informed by the Sheriff a couple minutes ago that they were in fact out. Fuse swapped, everything works.

So now I'm wondering, should I go digging for the cause or wait and see if the fuse holds? Like I said before, I haven't hooked up my trailer or done anything other than drive and park her so I'm kind of nervous as to what the cause may be.

Glad you got it fixed. I would just get one or two extra fuses and wait and see if it acts up again, but thats just me.
