My problem is my 1995 Tacoma 4x4 3.4 is not engaging the front axle. The front drive shaft is turning when shifting into 4 wheel drive. My model does not have the button for 4 wheel drive the later models have. The front axle does not engage and the light does not come on. I don’t know where to start. I have checked the 10 amp fuse and it is good. Maybe I should start checking vacuum pump and lines. I know where the ADD is on the front axle, it looks like 2 vacuum lines and one electrical connection. Very hard to access or even see it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Welcome to the forum!!

How long has it been since it would engage ?

The actuators do tend to hang up if not engaged every few weeks.

My check is a hand held vacuum pump making sure the actuator moves free

vacuum lines can dry rot . Vacuum Switching valves can die of old age.

your looking up from the bottom with the splash shield removed?
