    Hi All

Posted in the armor forum but copied here for more potential reads:

Finally in the market for a front bumper and going the hybrid route as it fits my needs. I mostly commute, hunt and haul wood in my truck - no crazy offroading - so I need a lighter bumper for occasional obstacles.

Any thoughts or considerations on the RRW, BAMF and Relentless bumpers?

I configured a bumper on each website, and here is the breakdown with options, lead-times, and shipping for each:

    RRW - low hoop, black powder-coat ($100) , 4-6 weeks - $1150 + $175 shipping

BAMF - low hoop, bare metal (powder-coat $300), bash plates ($89), 8-10 weeks - $841 + "XPO Freight shipping" Invoice sent at time of shipping (what is this?)

    Relentless - low hoop, bare metal (powder-coat $250), 16-20 weeks - $1167 + $200 shipping

I'm leaning towards BAMF based on price and lead-time, but shipping costs could change that. The all look pretty similar, but looks can be deceiving. I've heard a lot of bad things about RRW customer service, but I have no experience with any of these companies.

What should I consider when making this purchase? Any known discounts for TW members?

    Thanks!

I believe bamf has a discount code, but right now they have their 4th of july sale running with 15% off applied at checkout. Normal discount code only gets you 10%.

I just received a full set of skids from them last week. I live on the west coast and shipping came out to be $250 for residential delivery. You pay that at the time the product is ready to ship from bamf. XPO requested I confirm the day/delivery time window, but also allowed me to adjust it if I wanted. Then I receive a text about an hour before when to actually expect the delivery truck to show up. I’m sure the other companies use similar shipping methods, but I had a good experience with bamf and the shipping provider.

I had a B.A.M.F. hybrid with the low hoop on my second gen and it was great, but I just picked up a 3rd gen and the W.A.R. bumper is just as solid and seemingly a bit lighter. Just my 2¢

Just purchased the rrw bumper. I'm trying to figure out if I need to push back the transmission cooler a few inches to fit a winch. Also debating whether I really need to buy the reinforcement brackets even though I might never use the winch. Kinda would like a 30in led bar too.

I thought the trans cooler had to be pushed back no matter what? Don't all front bumpers come with relocation brackets? My Body Armor Hiline bumper did and my new At the Helm bumper. And with the winch, if you can move the control box to the side, then you should be fine.

    Thanks
Is there anything else besides that, that I should be worried about. I already have my bumper caps from runnin4tacos. And so you were saying that I should just buy the hardware to push the Trans cooler or would I be fine without doing so. My bumper didn't even come with a single bolt or any hardware nor instructions. I'm a little young and inexperienced but I cab manage the install with the winch and fog light wiring.

What bumper did you get? Yes get the trans cooler (actually its the power steering cooler) relocation brackets. Those are needed. The bumper will bolt on by reusing the nuts from the aluminum crash bar that you have to take off. Should be 6 total there. Other than that, you could add an extra bolt/nut where those 6 bolt on. They are 7/16”-14 x 4”. You can see it in this video around the 20:50 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffi8jz1WsWE

You should be able to google your bumper and find a video install. Or search here and find more than enough info.

My BAMF hybrid bumper came with reinforcement brackets, but I've yet to install them. The bumper, as mounted to frame without brackets, is pretty fn solid. If you feel you might never use the winch, you can probably pass on brackets.

Check the light bar mount spacing on the RRW bumper and buy a light bar that fits between that spacing. A winch should not interfere with light bar mounting - it did not with my BAMF bumper

Thanks a lot guys. I've been stressing over this for a month now. I just need to find the time to do all of this and will ask a friend for a hand because it's going to be approximately 150lbs or so with everything installed including the bumper. If I have anymore questions I'll try to let yall know

try not to stress. the bumpers can be intimidating at first, but they are pretty straight forward installs. I too bought the R4taco bumper fillers and this eliminates the biggest headache - cutting the stock bumper. the rest is pretty straight forward

Ohh yea for sure. Uhh I just remembered that I also have some Amazon mud tracks I wanted to mount on my prinsu rack. I'm pretty sure there is a thread about this topic. I was just wondering if you knew anything about this. I also have the load panels too
