Honestly, brake calipers and disks clear just fine. Not concerned about those at all.

Thank you for confirming. I will just keep my setup, figure if one of the lines brakes (may be), all brakes wouldn't loose function.

They could depending on brake fluid loss. After the TSB, I threw a set of vise grips in my o shit bag just incase.

Not sure who you’re accusing because I’ve never once implied that I was worried. My participation in this thread is to provide info on my specs with no issues

well until your truck leaves the pavement for more than .25miles i think youll be just fine.. not very many people on here post pics of their Tacoma's with any amount of mud or gravel dust or snow on the wheels so i think its really a none issue. over 100 miles of UP Michigan gravel and mud last week and i had no measurable amount of build up in my wheels..

“Abundance of caution” issue. Because it involves brake lines, all it takes is one guy with petrified dirt caked on the inside of his rims to trigger a recall. For the 99.99% of the Tacomas I see at Starbucks or Costco these days, it’s a non-issue.

I don’t know about anyone else but I hate looking at any of stuff whether it’s a car or bicycle, if it’s dirty I usually clean it up the next following day the latest if not right away. People with issues probably don’t clean their truck after muddy rides for weeks of not months.

Not me driving all the way back from LA with the trail dust still all over the rig

Washed the truck as soon as I got home though so I understand you there lol

Also it would take an obscene amount of mud to mess up the brake hose..

That’s what I mean. Unless you go off-roading all the time and let the mud dry and cake up into the wheels. You’re fine. also the additional weight of the mud being caked onto the wheels will throw off the balance of the tires so you would probably address the caked mud before any real issue develops. I know when I get frozen ice from caked up snow forms on my wheels it vibrates my wheels.

There's definitely more important stuff for Toyota to take a look at on 4G than people neglecting to clean their trucks lol

Maybe sorting out the trans running hot should be higher on the list lol

Well I think people that don’t clean their trucks often are getting into accidents or mishaps and trying to sue Toyota so it’s probably a priority for them lol
