Thanks! I was hoping for a 285 width tire. Would the 265/70/18 be considered 33" tire?

Wonder why the OEM Toytota version of this tire loses the 3-peak snowflake mountain rating?

I wonder if they opted for a harder compound that didn't meet the 3 peak rating for cost cutting/longevity. Much more mild tread design than the real Wildpeak.

It looks a lot like the Wildpeak AT Trail (crossover SUV tire), although that one is still snowflake rated.

    Because it's cheaper.

Yeah usually stock tires are the cheapest. Basically a throw away tire. Funny thing is most people when its time to replace their stock tires choose the exact same ones.

I got 150/tire for mine at Discount Tire when upgrading. I had 80 miles on them. Nubs were still on them.

I get that OEM tires are usually cheapo's, but they are using the same tire name as the non-oem counterparts. Falken Wildpeak AT3w and BGF Trail Terrains - both tires i've actually purchased and owned, but for some reason, the OEM Toyota versions lack the 3-peak snowflake rating, and the Falkens look different despite the same name.

I have been told the stock tires from Toyota have less thread depth to make them cheaper and for EPA tests. The same tire can be bought with the full thread with the 3 snow peak rating but will probably give a bit less MPG.

makes sense. It's like these little games OEMs play and no one talks about it. My BMW M3 came with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires - but OEM version which has slightly different compound than the off the shelf retail Pilot Sport 4S. but for the most part the performance is pretty much identical with same tread pattern and depth.

Toyota's OEM tires with its removal of 3-peak snowflake rating makes it a completely new tire from the off the shelf retail tire - despite the same name.

the Goodyear AT tires that came on mine spun in wet grass. They had to go. Basically street tires.

It’s on there if you do a google search. It’s not easy to find and has meh ratings. Typical stock cheapos….bunch of the reviews are from Tundra owners and they’re getting 14000 miles and their done.

I’m experiencing something similar but I don’t have any hesitation. Just a slight vibration when going electric to gas motor. Does everyone else with the hybrid experience the same?

Mine also, I assume it is the inherent nature of a Toyota hybrid? Ive been trying to get a coworker who has owned a few hybrids to drive it, but been busy.

Who's got a decent solution for a sub box with these hybrid trims?
