I'm loving this truck and very very pleased with the power it has. No stranger to hybrids over the years, of course as stated this one is more for the increased torque than the MPGs. No issues so far and the ride is great.

I am averaging 23-24 mpg with most of my driving. That is mostly urban area's 55 mph. I live in the SE and burn Top Tier fuel only at 87 octane. I did remove the chin spoiler and it didn't seem to change any of my averages.

My wild guess is Toyota's algo keeps it at the halfway. Because they want to balance putting the fairy dust to use vs saving it up.

Mine has not gone below 3 I believe it is but have had almost full charge. Only seems to happen while coasting down a pretty long mountain road near me.

Looks like hybrids are now on the transmission TSB. I’m barely inside it. Sigh. Screenshot 2024-10-15 at 8.07.15 AM.png

I missed it by tons, one good thing about a very late build I guess.

Mine was late July and Last digits 3TYLC5LN8RT004918. Assembled at Guanajuato, which I think is were all the hybrids are assembled. I thought my last numbers were 49k but not see it's 4k.

Don't know why the list has a pound sign where my 8 is in the VIN?? Does that mean any number in that spot? If so does that would mean mine is on the list?

If it's affecting July builds, I don't think their fix they did very early in the year took...

Mine's not so small. When I stop at a light, if I don't have my foot deep in the brake it jerks forward just a little. Almost every time.

What is your build date and do you think it’s the transmission ?

I don't know the build date, but my VIN is in the TSB (low 2000 serial number) so it's possible. It looks like you actually have to throw a code before the TSB applies, so we'll wait and see, though if it gets more significant, and gets so it happens every single time, I'll likely take it over to the dealership, as much as I hate to go there.

If your foot is off the gas when it occurs, it is most likely the transfer of power between the battery motor and gas engine. Perfectly normal!

that’s what I keep hearing - especially on the tundra forums - but there’s a member here who has a gas 24’ and says he experiences the same thing and thinks it’s the transmission so I don’t know - @Gfenza89 — tagged him here

I love my Hybrid Limited's looks and the way it drives. I live up in the mountains and use a lot of country roads. Vehicle still new so the manual calculation of 2 fill-ups I am getting just over 22 mpg.
I got the hybrid for the torque since I tow a boat. The 'Normal' and 'Sport S' mode give enough acceleration to push me in my seat. Not race car push but still impressive and I am not really trying to do this as I am still in self imposed break in mode - so I have not tried to squeal the tires.
