Glad I found this forum on TW. Hope this post helps someone.
At the time of this post, many parts of the US are suffering some extreme heat. Yep...SUMMER.
I want to add something here. For the past few years or so have suffered from random bouts of dizziness, racing heart rates, nearly blacking out. Fun stuff...especially while driving.
Come to find out...I have been severely dehydrated. I was blaming it on other factors...but could never find the "cure". As I am getting older (over 60), it was getting more serious.

I did all kinds of research as to why. Anyhow. My wife did a TON of research as well and I finally agreed to start taking her advice. DEHYDRATED! Once I started my day drinking plenty of water mixed with supplements, such as potassium, magnesium, Himalayan pink salt, and mixed with a small amount of flavor, like a touch of crystal light. I usually mix about a 1/2 (half) ounce of the dry mixture with 24 ounces of water in a YETI style tumbler.

Buy the ingredients in larger quantities online and make your own. Quit with the phony hydration drinks. (The only one worth a darn is Body Armor, stay away from the sugar free one unless you want a quick weight lossa few hours later). Do your research and take care of yourself.
    Stay hydrated.

I was bad about hydrating in the past. Then saw a friend suffer through a kidney stone and how hydrating well can prevent that. Now I start the day with at least 16 oz of water while watching the opening news on TV and drink water before going outside to do a chore.

Yes. Same here.I have only one kidney stone episode, which passed quickly on its own. I will say that I do not EVER want to experience that again. Indescribably painful!

Is it better or worse to chug water. I do a similar thing as my morning routine. I pop a multi and chug 12oz of water before starting anything else. Before I leave the house. I chug another 8oz of water.

I work indoors so I go through only a couple bottles of water a day, but if I'm outside mowing the lawn or whatnot, I make a point that every time I have to empty the grass bag, stop my process, etc. I go through a bottle. Keeps me honest about staying hydrated and when I'm done, I relax with another. Maybe I'll throw in some pedialyte.

As for the slow/fast consumption, for me personally chugging does weird things with my stomach so if I have water in the morning I just throw a cup in the microwave and heat it up a bit like I'm having tea. Works for me and YMMV
