Finally fed up with this thing rolling around and in to the floor. So,, being the cheap ass that I am--took a quick trip to lowes. Now I've got myself a redneck solution.

I've been eyeing the hydro flask but couldn't bring myself to pay the $70 or whatever ridiculous price it was last time I checked.

After I saw your post and read some of the reviews I ordered the Winterial and it arrived yesterday. So far I'm very impressed with the overall quality but we'll see if it holds up in the long run.

Thanks to this thread, I got myself a hydroflask.
I found the 64oz grey flask with a free straw cap and free shipping for $64 so I jumped on it.
I thought the 64oz would be too bulky yoto carry around, but it's perfect. Works great! Fill halfway with ice, 2 and a half bottles of water(at room temp), and the ice will last about 24 hours.
I'm gonna go the lanyard around the headrest route to secure it to the seat.

Haha this is great. I like how you went with the black PVC - looks better.

I decided to get myself one of these (https://www.rticcoolers.com/shop/drinkware/tumblers/RTIC-Tumbler-30-oz) for my coffee. The tapered bottom fits in all the cup holders fine. I store my Hydroflasks in my backpack now. I also have one of their coolers - top notch quality. Couldn't make myself pay $400 for a Yeti.

I know what you mean about the price. Year and a half ago I bought the 24 oz. Hydro Flask and the Klean Kanteen Sports Cap and I bought them on Ebay and saved just over $9.00. Comes in pretty handy to take along on the trip to town and back. A couple weeks ago I bought a couple 30 oz. Ozark Trail tumblers from the local Walmart. They fit in the cup holders just fine. Why spend extra money to pay for a name? Like Yeti.

As an update I dropped the bottle for the first time and the strap that holds the lid to the neck of the bottle broke. I've emailed the company but I don't think they're going to cover it under warranty and have suggested I just buy a new lid

I don't exactly see the problem there, but this is what their warranty states..

    https://www.hydroflask.com/warranty/

Whether or not that applies to user induced damage isn't written out, but I see no problems with the "you break it, you buy it" concept. A lid is $5.

This is for the Winterial bottle, but either way:

I'm not necessarily opposed to buying a new lid but I am upset that it was brittle enough to break the first time that I dropped it. It was only about 1/4 full too. I have nalgene bottles whose lids haven't broken despite years of being dropped while full *shrug*

I think that if I needed a LOT of H2O.. like most of you seem to, then I'd do a Plastic/rubber blatter stuck to the roof of the cab.... a hose into my mouth... I could suck anytime I need the nourishment..!
Then I'd make a nice "disposal system" that allows me not to have to stop for a "P" every hour or so.. The drain hose would just go down and onto the road... The hose should be behind any frame members...(due to rusting)..

Sounds like a nice mod if someone would do it..!.. I wanna see pics...!!

If you drank out of and pee'd into the same tube/bladder it'd be a lot more efficient.

You got that right.... But... like that Confusis says... "Women who cooks carrots and peas in same pot... very unsanitary"...

I think we have something going here... we need a good filter system.... We are then good to go..!!

I've got one of these just lying around and have been thinking about using it in the rear cubby (driver's side one that is behind the single seat). Seems like a nice size to improve storage space by allowing vertical hanging of bags.

Maybe you should go to Wal Mart and buy a sense of humour..!!!!
You must have had a very bad upbringing... did your younger sister beat you...??
I am an old man, but I have a sense of humour.... Get one,.... it will allow you to live longer and be a little more "forgiving" of others' shortcomings...

    Have a nice life....

For what it's worth, I've broken two Hydroflask lids (being stupid, and dropping full bottles on their tops). Hydroflask has replaced the damaged parts promptly, with no questions asked and for free. Though I'm not sure what type of lid you have that broke specifically, keep in mind that these products have insulated lids (I know you got the "off brand" but I'm assuming since it's a copy). Since they're insulated they tend to be weaker (space between edges) vs. your nalgene cap (solid plastic).

    OA

EDIT: I re-read to see that the strap portion broke. Sucks since there's no real reason for that unless it's where it connects to the top of the lid.
