Hi all, I recently installed a pair of OEM LED headlights with the FBC harness on my 2017 TRD Sport. All was well for a few days but with the low beams on I am having hyper flashing on the drivers side turn signal. Neither the front or rear signal is out.

At the same time, the lower front marker? light in the drivers side headlight is not lighting up. The amber side marker is lit up fine. Is this my issue and if so, does anyone know if that is related to my hyper flashing issue? Thanks in advance.

Parking light circuit is independent from turn circuit.

turn hyperflash relates to total turn load so depends on rear turns and mirror turns. Have you swapped either of those out? You can add resistors if needed, easiest to add in the taillight cavity.

the lower front marker out while sidemarker is on sounds like a defective assembly. Where did you get the headlights from?

Possible that the driver side is entirely messed up or a knockoff with two symptoms in one assembly.

Get the VLED tail kit. We like the cheaper one, stage 1. Or puppypunter tails. Amazon bulbs are crap.

Actually, I am still running the triton reds. Planning to swap to non triton but forgot that was on my list to do.

Also, while it doesn’t exactly explain why sidemarker is on but front marker not, the rear turn red does connect to parking lights as well so if it’s causing trouble, swapping it back to halogen might be a good troubleshooting step.

Looking at those bulbs, I can't see anything indicating they have a resistor built in (usually labelled as "error correcting" or something along those lines). I do see a note that additional resistors may be required though. So the combined effect of the headlights and those taillights (and possibly the mirror lights) could be enough to cause a hyper flash. These trucks can be random as to what point they hyper flash, so it's tough to say, but that is where I would put my bet. Adding a small resistor to the rear tails should correct it though. If you want to keep it all splice-free, hit me up (or Dave if he wants to/has the time) and we can make an inline plug to add a resistor. I recommend a 25 Ohm resistor from VLED VLR-25 RESISTOR WP STYLE (vleds.com) or 2 LED PARKING LIGHT ERROR FIX (vleds.com) if you want to use their taps. Keeping it small (with Ohms, a smaller number is a larger load) shouldn't overload the circuit, but should clear up the issue.

As to the headlights, the lower marker (below the main beam) is driven by the same circuit as the amber sidemarker light, so Dave is spot on saying you may have an internal issue with the headlight.

Thanks for all the info guys. Just to make sure I'm getting this right, I can try the VLR-25 on the tail lights on each side with the bulbs I have, if I'm still having the same issues then it would be best to go for the VLED kit?

Resistors will fix hyperflash but I’d get the VLED tails or Johnny tails and toss those crap bulbs. More total money but less crappy parts on your truck requiring additional parts just to work properly.

also, VLED kit comes with PnP resistor feed so you can add VLR 25’s if there is any reason to.
