How would you guys feel if Toyota changed the way they built and sold their trucks. Instead of rolling them off the assembly line trying to compete nose to nose with the competition, they were built to order, with higher quality parts, attention to detail, and build quality. They would cost noticeably more money (several thousand dollars perhaps) obviously, but would have unwavering dealer support, designed to be owned a long time, etc. etc.

    Thoughts?

    A few bolts are different.
That was Toyota in the 80's and 90's but the price was still great!

They are still doing a great job though...

If they did all that you said, then our trucks would easily cost $80K dollars. Who would pay that for a Tacoma? Every vehicle built to order with attention to detail and higher quality parts? That's what Ferrari and Lamborghini does. Keep in mind that the more vehicles that roll off the assembly line, the lower the overall cost of the car. With that, you lose out to attention to detail and QA on every vehicle.
