I’m nervous to ask... Tacoma vs f150...

I currently have a 2012 Tacoma dcsb trd sport with a 6” lift and 35’s. I found a 13’ f150 ecoboost local to me for a good deal and decided just to take a look. The truck is quite nice, definitely different from the Tacoma, especially mine. Rides much smoother (mine is stiff, but also the steering doesn’t return to center when driving and has bump steer), noticeable improvement in power. It is a super cab so interior room isn’t a whole lot different except side to side. I believe the trade in and deal as a whole is a good deal just having a hard time deciding. There’s pros and cons to both in my mind. I don’t NEED a full size half ton truck, and I don’t live in the city so the increase in size isn’t necessarily a negative. I’d love to hear your opinions on why you would or would not switch, what makes you stick with the Tacoma or what would make you switch to a full size (specifically the f150)?

Don't buy full size if you don't need it.

    Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Like comparing a 1/4 to a 1/2 ton... oh wait that's what's going on here.

f150 is better than the Tacoma at everything except maybe some off road things.

Did I mention its a half ton?

Ive got a 2015 DCSB TRD Pro with a butt ton of mods. It gets about 12mpgs with all the weight hanging on it.

My work truck is a 2012 Ford F-150 5.0 4x4. Completely stock. I average 15/17 mpgs. I hear the ecoboost gets better mpg’s.

These two trucks are soo completely diametrically opposed in function and form that I wouldn’t try and begin why you would want to compare the two.

While my Ferd is much more luxuriously trimmed than the Tacoma, the Toyota is the product that feels as though it will go the distance.

the Ferd resale value sucks compared to the Toyota.

    my two cents.

There are some things that I really like about the 150. Getting it to fit in my garage is not one of those things.

Full size is different. You'll especially feel it when hauling passengers.

This isn't a downside to the Tacoma. This is a downside to what was done to the Tacoma. Regear and select a lighter weight wheel/tire combo and get some power and mpgs back.

Everyone I know with an F150 has had problems with it. One of my best buddies has a 2011 Ecoboost and it's on it's second transmission and needed a valve job shortly after he bought it, among other things. My dad had similar issues with his non-ecoboost F150. They are nice trucks, interior is comfortable, they drive nice, but the reliability issues would scare me.
