We need one of those grocery stores, shit I would find some reason to go daily. Honey, you sure we don't need milk again this week, I can stop on my way home, it's really no bother.

Not encouraging drinking and driving at all there. In New Hampshire, they have state liquor stores on the highway. It makes them tons of money, but I have always questioned if that's a good idea.

I was a little surprised when I went in there.. but hey, it is in Surprise, so maybe that was the plan? It also happens to be the worst intersection in the Surprise area from what I can tell based on the number of accidents I've seen there (but that could just be because I see that intersection daily so it seems worse)

    In-dash Garage Door Opener

I was looking at the Homelink Rearview mirror. It looks like my mirror has the temp, dim and compass. But not the garage door opener. A post from Clearwater Bill (See below) had a solution.

    Parts

    Your Garage door opener
    Wire
1- 12mm Waterproof Push Button Mini Round Switch ANKG-01 (5 Colors) (Amazon)
    A switch blank (plug)

    Tools

    Solder Iron
    Dremel Tool
    Nylon Pry Bar (Harbor Freight)
Multi-meter (did not use just in pict)

    upload_2017-9-28_13-32-41.jpg

    Steps

Remove the Plastic case from your door opener

Locate the main switch on the circuit board. Mine had three buttons.
    upload_2017-9-28_13-33-6.jpg

Use a jumper wire to short out the pins on back of the circuit card for the button to close the garage door. I was in my garage and when the door closed, I had a winner.
    upload_2017-9-28_13-34-23.jpg

Solder a 6in wire to both of the back of the circuit card.

Place the plastic case on the circuit card. Break a switch off to feed the wires out.

On the pushbutton (I chose red…self-destruct???). Solder a 3in wire on the pins.

On the blank switch cover drimel a hole to fit the switch. I drilled a small hole and progressively made it bigger. The switch was tight and did not need the lock nut to hold it in place.

Pry out the cubbie with the nylon pry bar
    upload_2017-9-28_13-34-43.jpg

Splice the garage door opener to the switch and place it in between the cubby pocket and the switches

    upload_2017-9-28_13-34-56.jpg

    upload_2017-9-28_13-32-19.jpg

Test the switch and be amazed with your ingenuity. I have had this for 2 months and it never gets old. See the video

To replace the battery, just pull the cubbie out and replace the battery in the case.

Thanks for the idea and the directions. Much Appreciated

When I was putting my rear leafs in and had the truck in the air, spare tire kit was too long and ran into the work bench. Took one of them off and it dawned on me that the extention was just about a 3/8 rachet size. The spare came off quick.

Mine is on a 3/8's ratchet. The drill is good for in the shop. I'll use this tip when I change out the suspension. Good one!

Nice set up. Were you brewing multiple batches at the same time? Looks like you got 1 mash going and 2 brewing with some hop spiders. I used to brew often, but with the kid + 1 more enroute soon I've been having a hard time finding time to do so.

Union jack is definitely one of my fav IPAs. Also Stone's Delicious IPA is great too.

Oh yeah, Stone Delicious is another good one. Hard to go wrong with Stone, period.

I brew 33 total gallons (volume into fermenter) at a shot using those three kettles. All are in mash, hop spider is only there to hold a thermometer. I actually do not use that as a hop spider anymore, just been hanging my hops from the hoist for each kettle.

From front to back, this batch was ...

#1 Pale Ale - loosely based on Ballast Point Grunion, ended up even better.
#2 Belgian Blonde - finished fermentation w/ sous vide for added funk, was awesome.
#3 Double IPA - w/ local raw honey added mid fermentation.

I hear you on the time aspect, it has been a year since I brewed last. Got the truck and 2 puppies soon after, but gearing up for three brew days by end of 2017.

It's also time to bottle a 20 month old Flanders Red, as soon as I can find a minute or two ...

There is only one great beer and the would be Pliny the Elder but if I were to choose a second it would be Two Hearted Ale but I can't get it in Cali..
