I added helper springs, do I need to change WDH settings?

My weight distribution/anti-sway hitch was set up with trailer level. Yesterday, I had some helper springs added to make the ride a little firmer when towing and to help with weight in the truck bed. The helpers were adjustable so I had them set for 1000 lbs. I haven’t noticed any significant difference in the ride with empty truck bed and no trailer nor does the rear appear to be raised.

I have not hooked up the trailer since installing the helpers so don’t know yet if the trailer will still appear level when attached. Does anyone know, will I need to make adjustments to the WDH?

Changing your rear spring rate - including adding helper springs - means the rear of the truck will be under a different height or tension under the WDH.

    You need to readjust it.

Depending on the weight of the trailer, there may be no adjustment. In my opinion, if you have sumosprings / timbrens or helper springs or a smaller trailer, you do not need a WDH. I've been fine without one and I'm running Dakar heavy leafs with sumosprings.
