@5nahalf I read through a good bit of this (and watched your vids) before I said holy s**t... I'm glad you're still kicking and that your family is okay. Turns out West Nile is no joke. Still have meningitis, encephalitis, or any other central nervous inflammation?

Yeah, its one of those things you never think is much of a problem till you get it.
I always thought, yeah, ok flu like symptoms then ill be fine... nope, shits evil. Ive got lesions in my spinal cord now and things just dont work right anymore. I did a bladder test a few weeks back, went from 700cc to 160cc after going to the bathroom... I should have less than 30cc after peeing, but nope, so now Im at higher risk of bladder infections too.

While no one has asked this, im sure some of you are wondering. Since I have less feeling in my legs, I do also have less feeling in my middle sections (the fun parts). It still works, but I cant feel much down there.

New updates because im excited for them.

I got a cyclops mount for my bike. It holds the bike up and puts resistance on the rear wheel so I can bike safely in my basement without moving. Ive used it a few times today already and after just 5 minutes each time im wiped out. But, im going to try to do at least an hour a day, or one episode of star trek TNG. Hoping by spring time ill be as buff as the neighbor is.

    One of these things

If you didn’t get the front wheel block, it will make it much more comfortable. Worth the $15-20 for it.

Me too, I feel like I have not been able to do enough with the cold and snow outside. So I’m bringing the biking inside.

One thing when biking, fluid builds up behind my knee caps and is super uncomfortable. It goes away if I straighten my leg, but comes right back as I pedal. Hopefully that goes away when I get some more strength in my legs.

holy fucking shit man, i cant imagine what you went through. you've been to hell and back thats for sure. thankful that you're still here with us. fuck mosquitos man. good news is i saw that some genetically modified mosquitoes will be released in an effort to sterilize the natural mosquitos. lets hope it works.

I hope their trials work, mosquitos do nothing for the planet.

I suppose now is as good of time as any for a update on this too.
Im walking much better, still get leg pain, still tire out fast, and still have very limited feeling from the waist down. I burn my legs on a regular with my space heater because I cant feel it, but I smell the burning. But otherwise I am doing better, only have fallen a few times, so Im happy with that.

    Glad you're doing better.

I lived in Alaska and agree that mosquitoes suck. They are an important food source to many other animals and an important pollinator of many plants though, filling an important role in the larger ecosystem.

Untrue, mosquitoes have a place. They do natures work by spreading diseases that control over population. The problem is man figured out how to kill mosquitoes and cure/vaccinate people. The result is way too many humans on this planet.

    Unfortunately, this is true.
Now the problem is the lack of education, contraception and food.
I’ve been very fortunate to never have experience true starvation or a mosquito transmitted disease.
I can’t image either one being the “better” way to die.

From what I’ve seen, there is no good way to die. Just different degrees of bad.
