There have been quite a few fatalities on the freeway here, when people tried to help others.

OP, keep your spirits high and always think about what Nietzsche said: "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". I hope you get well soon. God bless!

Hope all is well and you recover fully. Sounds like possible meningitis to me as well.

I had meningitis a few years ago. The headache is absolutely unbearable. Sitting upright makes you feel like you are going to pass out. Took me 3 and a half weeks to recover from the headache and even longer to lose the dizzy feeling. And mine was mild compared to some cases.

I'm glad those girls stopped to check on you.
I doubt I would've stopped - not because I don't care about people, but because my first instinct would be to assume you're some dumbass wannabe YouTube prankster.
Yes, that's how jaded the internet and everyone seeking their 15 minutes of fame have made me.
Get well soon and hang tough.

Wait... TW is your go-to for emotional support during a life-threatening crisis??

This is a chilling tale, and you're lucky if it's true. Whether this story is true or not, you have another problem that you really need to get help with, and it's as serious a threat to your well-being as what you described.

Dammit, I’ve had similar run-ins with bizarre illness that had me dying on a side walk... with people casually walking by. All I can say is call the Ambulance next time instead of trying to drive, it’s not worth dying in traffic when help is only a phone call away.

Not usually, but my wife and kids went home, my parents had just left and I had just spent a hour in the phone.

Think of this more as tale of why you should check on others stopped on the road. If those girls didn't I would of died.

They ordered physical therapy for today to try to get my legs working. Till then I still have a hard time moving and am restricted to bed and peeing in a bottle.

Glad you’re alright OP. Losing sensation, let alone function of your limbs sounds frightening. Just curious how you can use your hands now? What kind of aid did they administer or did your functionality come back naturally?

Glad to hear you made it through and are recovering. I admit that I would not have stopped & gotten out my vehicle to help. Too many recent instances of people getting hurt when they stop to help, whether it be getting hit by a distracted driver or worse, getting setup/ robbed. However, I will call the police if I see someone in distress and report their location so proper help can be dispersed.

While my hands and arms are working, I have a hard time just holding my phone up.
We are not sure what cocktail really had the most effect, they have never seen something like this.
My arms were so locked up the police had a hard time getting me out of the truck because they were stretched out to the shifter.

The girls did this too, the one who came to me asked from about 20 feet away if I was ok. When she saw my condition she ran over and dialed 911 again.

That’s terrifying! @5nahalf Could you maybe have used Siri to call for help? (If you have an iPhone)

Glad you’re alive, I hope you recover quickly

I have a Android, i asked the phone for help, it said it couldn't. The phone had fallen between my legs and without fingers or hands that worked I couldn't get it. I had now idea if my plea to my phone for help did anything till next day when I got my phone back.

Was just an idea. I’m not as familiar with the androids but I know with my iPhone I could say “hey Siri call 911 on speaker phone” and it’ll get done. But if you tried that’s about all you can do really.

I'm going to visit the paramedics who saved me when I get out to thank them, but also to ask about what I could of done better.

If this happens again, I need to be ready for it.
