One time I saw someone asleep behind their wheel on the road. I called the cops and let them know the situation. At first I was thinking it was an intoxicated driver, but then I thought it may have been someone getting a stroke or something.

May the Lord bless you and make you well. No telling what insect bites and stings will do to us nowadays, I got stung under the arm by a wasp three days ago. My whole right arm is itching like hell for days now. Not nearly as bad as your situation. Get well.

Little update for today, had some problems this morning, about 2 hours of nausea, dizziness, and half blacking out. They started dumping fluids and meds in me, didnt do a ton, but when my lunch showed up I had a bunch of fruit in there and that seemed to help.

I have another therapy apt for later today, see if I can get on my feet.

There are some other viruses up that way such as La Crosse encephalitis. I used to live in La Crosse and was acquainted with the doctor who discovered it. There’s also Lyme disease, though I doubt that was what hit you.

If not West Nile or LCE, I would venture an autoimmune situation possibly transverse myelitis. If they don’t figure it out soon, get down to Mayo. They specialize in the unusual. My daughter had some appointments there last week for a kidney situation.

Anyway, glad you got help when you needed it and get better quickly!

We talked about moving to Mayo today. We are going to wait for the final tests to come through here. If they still have no clue what going on then I will have the ambulance take me to Mayo.

Eric hang in there, hope you get better ASAP.
For reference, if you can, always check what meds you are being given, dose and times....just don’t rely on docs and nurses being perfect with all that.

Praying for you brother. Sounds like viral meningitis or some sort of ascending paralysis. Adrenal insufficiency can also look that way, but you’d have to be on steroids prior (or sometime a rare infection of adrenal glands). Would also consider guillan barre syndrome. Mayo has the best docs hands down. I hope you get well soon. Make sure and tell them if you take any herbal supplements or have had any weird symptoms the last few days/weeks/months.

Wow. What a save. You're in my thoughts OP. Good luck with this situation, and I hope you and your family are doing OK.

(I don't know how people feel about vaccines here, I don't want to argue, but there's vaccines available for meningitis now. I had both men A and B shots given to me six month apart I think. The shots destroyed my arm for a week, but it is a scary disease to get. Better to protect you and your family against it proactively.)

Wish you a fast and full recovery.
I'll try to make you laugh.
    - next time don't go to the Emergency, go to the Toyota dealer, they'll say your condition is normal.
    - any hot nurses there?
    - how high can you lift that hospital bed?
    - biggest wheels you can put on that bed without rubbing?
    - any metal noises while laying in the bed?
    Get well soon.
