CMC done! I'm gonna have to blast it with a bit of flat black to match better. :)

CMC = Cab Mount Chop, also known as a body mount chop.

When putting on larger tires (33"), most of the time they rub on the body mounts, so you need to chop off a little for clearance. This will most likely occur in full turn under shock compression.

Unfortunately, I do not know how to weld so I took it to 4 Wheel Parts to have it done. They did a pretty good job, better than what I could do for sure, looks OEM. Cost me about $250.

Bussmann is in... well at least the fuse block is. It took a bit longer to install to the due limited space in that area of the engine bay.

    Blacking out the interior (maybe)

Swapped out the steering wheel control. Part no. 84250-04040-C0

Got a great deal from @Titus_Will_Toyota on this group buy thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...blackout-interior-parts.449999/#post-13184365

    Pretty easy install.
    1.
Disconnect negative battery terminal in engine bay (don't want that air bag deploying) :)

    2. Pop off side panels and loosen Torx star-shaped screws on left and right side of steering wheel.
    IMG_3331.jpg

    3. Pull out Airbag, place on top of steering column, no need to disconnect.

    4. Remove screws holding controls (2 on each side), disconnect the 2 plugs and 1 wire that is plugged into steering wheel, remove controls (pull controls straight out, it is being held by pins)
    IMG_3329.jpg

    5. Install new controls in reverse order, DONE!

Now to decide if I want to:
    • Paint all the silver trim to black
    • Paint steering wheel and gauge rings in black, center unit in MGM or Silver
    • Paint all as MGM
    • Leave remaining trim as

At least now with the black steering controls I can paint it a different color and have the volume control black instead of silver.

Here is what it would look like if I went all black:
