I AM BRUTICUS (build thread)

Decided against getting windoors for the shell. I still like them but it didn't look so good on the shell I had. Looks like windoors only come in one shape/size. Since I had the curved glass in the back and larger windows, the shell shape wasn't the same as the windoor. So if you want a windoor, make sure you get a shell that has the flat glass in the back and not the oversized windows.

 

Bed Lights

Installed some led strips in the bed and hooked them up to the SP8100. I can now control the bed lights through my phone. Yay.

 

Tailgate reinforcement

Installed Mobtown Offroad reinforcement tailgate plate. Easy install, decided not to change out the original hardware, seems to work fine for now. Makes a great surface table when tailgating. The only thing is that it gets real hot in the sun.

 

That looks good. Yes, that's on my list to do. I'm waiting to see if I want to go up to 33, which then I will need to trim the bushwhackers before painting them.

Is that a Matte finish? That looks killer.

 

Camper Shell interior roof attachment points

Installed some attachment points (

Mad Rock Sentinal Bolt Hangers 6 Pack

Mad Rock Sentinal Bolt Hangers) to the top of the shell. Had to get longer bolts and cut them to fit. Added some silicon to the threads for water protection. Going to put a cargo net up there to hold jackets and loose items. Got this idea from another member (unfortunately, can't seem to remember who).

 

TRED Pro custom mount (in progress)

Bought some TRED Pros recently but didn't like the TRED pro mounts. Decided to make my own using

$66 MAXTRAX Mounting Pin Set (40mm for MAXTRAX MKII, LITE and Mini)

Maxtrax mounting pin set. Problem was that the Maxtrax pins didn't fit into the TRED Pros hole which wouldn't allow the pin to lock the TREDs in place. So I had to shave off/shape the excess material to match the TRED hole. Now I just need to mount it to the rack. Depending on how the TRED holes line up with the crossbars I'll probably go with using an aluminum angle as others have done.

I went back and forth on adding this as well. I think it was just in the middle of a bunch of other items I had acquired. I prob need to add it back to the list.

 

It's a good upgrade and not super expensive. Make the tailgate more useful and doesn't hurt my knees when trying to get into the bed. Also, make a great table when tailgating.

 

Nice looks like it will be added to the list.

Just came in. Very nice build, super solid. Love that I can lock my Hi-lift. Will try to install them this weekend.

Subbing this one, I really need to get a prinsu for my shell to go with my cab one, looks great and I could use the space, I also like the cargo net on the ceiling of the camper as well.

I am blown away by this build. I was just looking to see what a pair of Beast's would look like on my truck and stumbled upon your build and WoW!!!!! I am super impressed. I am going to do 18in Beast's but I am not going to do a lift cause I drive way too much for work and don't want to mess with the MPG's. Your truck is pretty much what I want mine to look like when it's done.... Great Job.....

sorry if I'm plagiarizing a bit. I just got the Fuel Beast rims too. I've got a 2.5" lift and I'm getting 285/70/17 tires.

did you have to trim and plastic?
