I am thankful the 3G Tacoma takes no styling cues from Lexus

It’s the first thing I thought of when I opened this thread and saw that. I was actually scrolling through the thread to see if anyone else had posted that. :D

Just FYI, that's a First Gen. GX460. Compare with the much lower Second Gen. lower valance.

My wife is spoiled by the Lexus service department. Takes her car in for an oil change and rotation and they let her pick out a loaner for the day. They don't even make her put gas in it. It's a different level for sure.

Hey.......just to be fair....no 2nd Genners are allowed to bash 3Gs in this thread unless you’ve cut some proper body lines into your fenders

Looks like the styling is mostly similar, but not helped (IMHO) by the new grille

I like the new grill better IMO. Then again I like the whole F Sport look.

Her previous car was a NX 200t F Sport. Had the same big ass hour shaped grill as all the other new Lexus’s.

If you think the GX is bad, look at the LX.

We had this as a loner for about a week a while back.

It is an extreme design, which means of you like it, your really going to like it. In some ways I give Lexus kudos for not being boring, they’ve just taken it in a direction that doesn’t appeal to me, but I’m likely not the target audience anyways.

I’m sure it’s an awesome vehicle to get around in.

They aren’t for everyone, but the quality and luxury of our GX is amazing. The fit and finish are leaps and bounds above my Tacoma.

The ride is incredible and the 4.6L is so smooth compared to the 3.5L and the jerky ass transmission.

It’s like riding down the highway on a plush leather sofa.

I test drove a 2000 GS400, that was a quick devil, but being partial to I6's I got the GS300. Oddly, my favorite car I've owned is a 1965 Mercedes 220S.

Nice machine for its time - 2.2L OHC I6 with dual 2bbl carbs, factory sunroof, 4spd on the column, four wheel independent suspension with a weird rear axle. Rear axle had a coil spring above the pumpkin.
    1965 Mercedes 220S sideview.jpg 1965 Mercedes 220S rear axle.jpg
Wasn't all that fast off the line, top speed about 120mph, but would hum along at 110 all day and smooth as glass. Too bad it rusted out, horrible body rust problems with those cars.
