That makes sense on a manual. Heal toe downshifts wouldn't be possible otherwise.

The link to the over-ride system explained a lot. I was wondering how it would affect me if I was driving in icy conditions or in 4WD, now I know. Thanks

So how does this affect using the brakes as a limited slip?

Curious what is going on with the clear coat on your hood? Pics?

Also - have you looked at the adhesive that holds the top hood panel to the hood 'frame'?

Emergency brake handle is right between the seats, we can use that for power braking.

UPDATE: Talked to service early this morning: They said truck was fine and had no problems, but they did see the problem Thursday "moving it out of the way." Said they drove it around the lot and no issues: Well, I drove it on the road and it drives now worse than it did. Feels like it has bad gas (sputter and much worse hesitation). Called them about it, they said it was normal, verified by the tech. Light isn't on, everything else works.... just doesn't drive the same. Gonna drive it another day or two for work, and if it doesn't break down, I'm going to take it to another dealership and have them take a look (just in case). Working in health care, a second opinion seems to make sense in some cases. I'll everyone posted. Thanks for the replies.

Normal for a 3rd gen? Yes. So normal in fact there's an official software update to "fix" the problem.

As for no rental. That's lame. They could have given you a rental and told you they'd settle up later if it turned out to be a driver error issue. That's crap service in my opinion.

So.... no brake stands then? Is that what the feature is meant to prevent?

The saga continues: Unfortunately on the way back into work yesterday evening, the "Brake Override Failure" light came on and said something about see service immediately. I was pulling up to a stop sign at roughly 5mph and it flashed. It went off and then came on to stay. Pulled into Taco Bell and figured the vehicle would screw up completely again, but it functioned normally on the way into work. On the way home, same story. Drove for about 15 miles and then it came on. I did figure out how to turn off the CEL. In my truck its really simple. Turn off the headlights. This completely erased the message and the CEL, but at the same time, it also completely shut off my Entune and made it restart. Truck drove normally, but for everyone saying it is how I drive... No. Headlights shouldn't turn of the CEL.
