    My first Taco has issues.
    1. I just bought the thing yesterday, took it for a drive, liked it, took it home. Put $20 gas in (gauge not working), at this point no issues here. stopped on the way home for coolant (it was low) and KFC ( the dog and I were hungry :) Came out of the store to at least a gallon on the ground, at both, NAPA & KFC, raced home and again another gallon!!! went to get a drain pan got back and it had stopped. upon inspection of tank lines, filler and filter, NOTHING OBVIOUS, looks like the frame is leaking??? rear frame (mid door - back is dry inside. forward is wet) I feel nothing in the frame, and top of frame is dry??
    2. Gauges do not function. speedo woks though

Start truck. Stand outside of truck with hood open. Wait for coolant to leak. Observe coolant leaking. Think. Repair mundane part that has failed.

Frame leaking? You might want to look again. I don't know about Ford, but Toyota does not store their gas or coolant in the frames. Due to the rust issues the frame will not be a reliable tank .
Also, $20 of gas is not enough to make your gauge even move.

Ok, in all seriousness, you definately want to find the leak.I am not sure if you said it's leaking coolant or gas - assuming coolant.(the AC will leak condensate on the ground every time you park somewhere. I assume you have confirmed that it is coolant - smell antifreeze) either way, dry the frame and see where it starts to get wet again.
The gauges might be a fuse - start there first.

Definitely FUEL not coolant. Cab is dry, Lines from tank to filter, DRY. Lines from filter to motor, DRY. Evap can on fender, DRY. Only the frame under driver side is wet and a steady stream of gas (NOT A DRIP!!) Thought maybe the evap canister but all is dry around there. Have had 3 ppl crawling all over this thing with no luck. YET.

You've worked all the way up to the filter and its dry, so the next logical step is to inspect the fuel rail and the injectors. It's possible the fuel is pissing all the way down the side of the motor, down the left side mount, and following your frame.

Did someone replace the filter and do a shitty job? No idea what year Toyota you have. On my dad's old Toyota, 89 I believe, the fuel filter was mid line up under the drivers side. It ran along the top or exterior side of the frame if I remember correctly.

Yall are missing a hole in the fuel line somewhere. Maybe the filter has a small hole in it or there is a pinhole in the line that is spraying the frame but not getting the lines wet.

Edit: also you are going to have to check for a pinhole with the truck truck running or at least with the key on so that the fuel pump is trying to build pressure and forcing fuel out of the hole.

The filter on the 95 is tucked up under the intake manifold.

I think you are on to something here..

At this point in it's journey the fuel is under pressure from the pump. If you have a small pin hole in the line it will be spraying out all over the frame, but not actually getting the line wet. Think of a pressure washer.

After drying everything under the truck try wrapping or wadding paper towels around the fuel line at strategic places and start the truck to pressurize the line. Then after about 10 seconds turn it off. Crawl back under the truck and find which paper towels are soaked. This will greatly narrow your elusive search...

The towel trick is good idea, thanks. However it leaks the most when truck is off and sitting there. it does leak while running but seems more excessive when not. was thinking return pressure? but again this is the mystery. Running or Not, I crawl all over this thing and see nothing but fuel from the frame, engine bay is dry, fuel filter is dry, fuel lines are dry, cab is dry, only from the two small holes on DS frame. DRIVING ME TO BE A CHEVY MAN. I HATE CHEVY'S :)

It is for the 4 banger but is it the same on the v6?

I believe on the v6 it's on the frame rail.

UMMM, I have one under the cab? am I missing something? it is a "Bastard child" two different trucks put together. But all seems to be correct. This issue with the fuel is an intermittent problem. went out today fired it up, no leaks? Drove into town and back, No leaks, Drove to get tags for it, "YOU F#@%ING PIECE OF S#!T" Leaking again. Maybe leaking is too misleading, this thing is streaming gas! WTF

    Simple 4 step process.

    1) Light a match.
    2) Apply match to said leak on ground
    3) Follow fire trail.
    4) Find source of leak.
    :D

PSA: Do not really try this as you may not live to find leak.
