but im looking at getting a trd cai from a guy. pretty decent deal. ive read the pros and cons. not much hp and mpg gains but nice throttle response and sound. just dont know if i want to drop that kinda money. but id like have some engine sound...bleh

IMO, CAI do not do much. Really it is all for sound, so if that is important to you, then go for it.

on the other hand i have the AFE looks like the trd one and i like it nice tone to the intake didnt pay attention to gas mileage but i was running 16.1 in the 1/4 mile now i run 15.7 so i think it helps a little

 

i've always been a skeptic, but in all honesty, i got one and a TRD exhaust for cheap and i notice an decent improvement when merging on the fwy in the higher RPM (4k) range...it also sounds pretty wicked at the rpm as well! i personally dont care all that much about hp and such though.

personally, i wouldnt pay over $100 for one, but thats just me.

The gains are more in your head than anywhere but if you like the sound and ever so slightly possible throttle response bump... go for it. If you don't feel it was worth the cash after, like said before through it back up on craigs and sell it and get your cash back. Can't really go wrong.
