    It's brutal...

There is an aftermarket handle that locks called 'pop & lock'--that's the only aftermarket part I've found. I never bought it because of its negative reviews.

My solution? I bought a topper that has locks!

I was just reading up on a thread about the one that uses the fob and key etc. How durable are they? I work construction and things get a little abused

    nothing cool
Same here. Bought an Undercover Topper that locks and makes it so the tailgate won’t open.

There’s someone on here who sells a $15 solution that goes on the hinge of your tailgate that requires a tool to remove.

I’m buying one soon, it’s not a lock but it’ll keep your tailgate from getting stolen so easily.

I guess I feel like a regular sized tweaker could literally rip my tailgate down even through my leer locks

The pop n lock ones are reasonably durable. For a construction rig though, I might pass.

Ha! My old topper had a single latch in the middle and even when locked could easily be opened. My new one has the double latches and is much stronger. I agree though that if someone really forced it they could still get in...

I'm just sick of rolling around with all my tools in the back seat. It's getting dusty etc and I cant afford to have them stolen etc

I put a hose clamp on mine, at least it'll slow them down.

It sounds like dynolock is better than pop n lock, anyone know something about them?

I think hes referring to locking the tailgate to truck so tweakers dont steal the entire tail gate vs just a lock that prevents it from being opened

I can't remember where I saw it, but someone rigged an electric door lock for the rear tail gate handle which would work with the rest of the locks. I think they may have done it with the gas cap door as well.

Anyways, it's somewhere here on the forum. If someone is feeling adventurous to dive down that proverbial rabbit hole.

Sounds like you need a proper tool box that locks hella secure and bolts to the frame / bed of the truck
