I did think about getting the SR5 with the 3rd row...but I'm guilty of already owning a 2011 Sienna.

The bed is why I got the Taco. I have a 4x6' trailer I had to haul to firearm classes. Now I just load everything I need into the Taco, and I'm GTG.

It happened on other sites when the 2nd gen rolled out. First gen and Toyota pickup owners trashed the new "Tundra 2.0" about it being an oversized shit box and not being Japanese made so not really a Taco.

They're just looking for a little payback is all.

I wonder if the rear sliding door is a lambo door? Otherwise it would hit the fender flare when you open it.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: there is no 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacoma, only T100's with Tacoma badges :D

    None...yet!
It's nice that every miniscule "problem" with the 3rd gens is dissected to death here, gives me an idea of what to watch out for... having said that, compared to the impression of these trucks you get here, I must have bought a different model. I don't have the tranny TSB yet, but the transmission in my truck seems pretty smooth and I don't notice any outlandish behavior at all. I am coming from a 2015 Cummins Turbo Diesel with the 8 speed, so if anything the Taco transmission feels like it's not shifting at all. My rear diff and springs are quiet. The oil changes are simple and clean and fast, after you remove the skids. My truck seems 100% to me, and I thought I was picky, before I came here... Compared to my 2003 Tacoma, this new one is plush!

At least you did some research and found that the 4Runner fit YOUR needs better. I don't know why people do little to no research, buy a 3rd generation hoping they made the right choice, then blame the truck for not being what they thought it should be. I still have 3 more years in my 2010 and am watching to see if some of the problems are resolved. If I go for a 3rd generation I will expect more shifting of the transmission and less low end torque. You won't hear me complain about it since I knew it would be that way before I bought it. I will read Consumer Reports, Car & Driver, and other reviews knowing where they are biased. They will be used as just a small part of my decision but they won't have the final say. That is reserved for me. Right now Consumer Reports isn't high on the Tacoma but so what. I put more weight into reliability and fewer repairs then they do if the seats are as comfortable as Lazyboy chair in front of my TV, floats over pot holes like 6,000 lb 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV, handles like a Porsche Carrera, and match the philosophy of the nut-job Ralph Nader.

I'm glad you made a decision on what is best for YOU. Enjoy it.

And the sqeaky clutch syndrome, possible non greased zerks and hood glue a few had, plugs to fix howling and 1324 posts concerning the phantom 4.3 gears is what you base this on.
    Great logic.
Its become TACOMA WHINERS not TACOMA WORLD.
That and a bunch of Ridgeline owners.

    Complaining about the whiners ?
    That makes ZERO sense.
This needs to be a constructive board, not controlled by a few biased individuals all day every day with do nothing negative posts.
Make it a useful site not a whining one.

No its constructive criticism to get this place on track. Learn the difference.
1324 posts concerning the phantom 4.3 gears ? Tacos being traded in alarmingly? Think man.
