I changed the oil but forgot to change the crush washer. Now I have a very tiny leak.

Just drain the oil in a clean container, replace the plug and washer, put the oil back in the engine.

No sense in 'racing' as you'll likely wind up making more of a mess.

You can give this a try. Unscrew the drain plug enough to expose some threads and use wrap a small amount of plumber's tape around them (in correct direction).
Should get you by until you change your oil/filter.

Stahlbus oil drain valve ftw. Been running one for well over a year and no leaks. It only drains when I want it to.

I’ve never replaced the crush washer on mine. Been doing the oil myself for past 6 years. Not saying you shouldn’t replace it but if you don’t it’s not the end of the world I guess.

Have you tried just tightening the bolt up a little more to stop the leak? I’m at 160K in my truck and have never changed the crush washer. That’s 30+ oil changes.

On an unknown vehicle you should always replace it....
but after that....unless you're an overtorquer....not so much...

Just pulled the differenial plugs to do axle seals......reused the aluminum ones I put in there a year ago..
even tho I have a little bag of extras.....

I'm more concerned about stripping out pan threads.....I'd give that wide berth....

Yeah, as long as there's no sharts in your farts... it's all good. Stay away from shellfish and your boxers can be flipped for months. Ask me how I know.
