I do all my driving between 2000 and 3000 rpm, what am I missing?

    Um, what?

Do you not rev match when downshifting?

nah man, smash it into first then slip it to modulate slowing. This is how you get that engine braking that’s way better then abs or that other computer ship.

    Back to OP.
This little motor likes to sing. Nothing wrong with keeping the revs low for normal driving, but nothing wrong with making it sing either.
I find shifting this to be a little different from other vehicles I have had. Contrary to popular argument here I find the low end just fine for normal driving, enough to handily pick up speed even leaving it in 6th. It’s the mid range that sucks. So if rowing the gears it feels like you might as well shift since it’s flattened out anyways…which is totally wrong. The top end of this motor is where it comes alive, and it likes it, it really likes it. Don’t be afraid of bringing the rpm’s up, this is a proven motor and you won’t harm it in the least

Those trucks were probably highly abused or something before you got them as clutches shouldn't burn out in only 60K

Couldn’t agree more. Just look around you in 2021, from the very top to the very bottom of society, everyone’s gone full retard. Makes me want move to a place with no internet and no smart phones. Just imagine once the drooling masses enter Mark Zuckerbot’s ‘Metaverse’.

Well said. My mother, who is a very busy and engaged person, even though she’s well into her 70’s, still is a cell-phone holdout. Has zero interest. My dad, with his smartphone of course, has become her resource for communication. If I wanna call my mom on Mother’s Day, I gotta call my dad etc. Kinda funny, but I feel of all the people I know, my Mom is still the best adjusted with the best mental state. I swear it’s because she doesn’t have her own “black mirror”.

Yeah, if you tell this v6 to sing, it will, yeah its fun when it does, but in the long run your shortening the engines life, not to mention performance.

    Sure
But did it go from 300,000 miles to 299,999? Or from 300,000 to, 5?
Driving it shortens its life too. Driving it in the cold. The hot. Idling in the drive through. Not idling it. When it rains. When its dusty out. When the pollen is high.

BTW, what's the worry about shortening performance if you never use the performance it has?

My wife always gives me shit when I dont bring my phone. I honestly don’t like carrying this huge brick with me. I always tell her that she always has her phone so what’s the point having 2 phones when leaving the house for like couple hours.

I miss the days when we had normal small flip phones and people actually used it to speak to each other, well and play the “snake” game haha!
