I know I am falling for this troll thread but here is some information for the people here talking about 1st and 2nd gen diffs. 3rd gens have 2 rear diff sizes, 2 differential devices and 2 gear ratios.

First is size. 8.0" and 8.8"

Second is differential, open or E-locker

Third is Ratio: 3.90 or 4.30 to 1.

All OffRoad and Pro have Elocker with 8.8".
    All V6 Manual have 4.30 to 1 with 8.8".
    All V6 Auto are 3.90.
    I4 Manual are 3.90, 8.8", Open.
    I4 Auto are 4.30, 8.0", Open.

The ring gear on the 8.8" is in fact 8.8" and the axles are 32 spline. The 8.0" is a carry over from the 2nd gen

Corrected information on 2.7L rear differentials.

Holy crap guys! Yall are awesome. I honestly thought someone would have said “nice try troll” on the first page, but no, yall some dumbass thag was trying to save $1200 on a rear locker install and completely screwed it up. I think this thread goes way beyond our typical #FailFriday thread and brought out the best in our tight knit community. Yes this was a troll thread. I didnt check because Ive been busy doing this:image.jpg

Yeah I was waiting for pics of the air locker install. Actually, it can be installed in just over 3 minutes!
